Tricks
We need to add the large number with small number, After that multiply this add result by count of numbers in the series of numbers, at last we have to do that we divide the result by 2.

Now let find the addition of following given numbers

How to Solve

  1. Add the largest number with the smallest number,
    i.e, 79 + 39 = 118
  2. Then Count the total numbers present in the series. In this case it is 5.
  3. Then multiply the Added result with the Number count,
    i.e, 118 x 5 = 590
  4. At last, divide the number by 2,
    i.e, 590 / 2 = 295.

  1. Seetha says:

This method does not follow all the numbers
    Ex: 86+12+3+25+90+8 = 234
If this is solved using the above method one will not find the correct answer.

    Regards,
    Seeth@

    • kavita dwivedi says:

it is possible for more digits..multiply by no of digits in series instead of 5
ex 36,44,52,60,68,76(total no of digit is 6)
      1.36+76=112
      2.112*6=672
      3.672/2=336

  2. NItin says:

    It is arithmatic progression.
    S=(n/2)(a+l)
    where S- Sum
n- number of values in series
    a- first term
    l- last term.
This is standard 7 formula, if you remember elementary mathematics.
