This type of problem are given in Quantitative Aptitude which is a very essential paper in banking exam. Under below  given some more example for your better practice.

Example #1
2 men can complete a single work in 3 days. 2 women can complete the same work in 9 days and 3 boys can complete the same work in 8 days. In 1 day 3 women and 4 boys together finished a portion of work. If only men were finish the remaining work in 1 day, find the number of total men would be required.

2. 6
3. 8
4. 12

How to Solve
If 2 women completed the work in 9 days,
Then, days required for 3 women is
2 x 9 / 3
= 6 days.

If 3 boys complete the work in 8 days,
Then, days required for 4 boys is
3 x 8 / 4
= 6 days.

So, work done by 3 women and 4 boy in 1 day is
(1 / 6) + (1 / 6)
= 1 / 3.

So, remaining work is
1 – (1 / 3)
= 2 / 3.

So, in to complete the work in 1 day, the required men is
2 x 2 x 3 / 3
= 4

Example #2
A can do a piece of work in 12 days and B can do the same piece of work in 6 days. Find days required to complete that work together.

1. 3 Days
2. 4 Days
3. 6 Days
4. 9 Days

Show Answer Show How to Solve Open Rough Workspace

How to Solve
A’s 1 day of work is 1 / 12.
B’s 1 day of work is 1 / 6.

Together they need
(1 / 12) + (1 / 6)
= 1 / 4
= 4 days.

Example #3
Anita, Ajay and Kunal can complete a work together in 40 minutes. Anita and Ajay together can complete the same work in 60 minutes. Find the time required for Kunal alone to complete that work.

1. 80 Minutes
2. 100 Minutes
3. 110 Minutes
4. 120 Minutes

Show Answer Show How to Solve Open Rough Workspace

How to Solve
Anita + Ajay + Kunal 1 minute work is 1 / 40.

So, Kunal alone can complete the task in
(1 / 40) – (1 / 60)
= 1 / 120
= 120 minutes.

Amit = 10 days
Bikash = ?
Amit = 10 x 3 = 30 work
Bikash = 30 / 5 = 6 days
Rough Workspace

Example #8
A work of painting a wall is done by Amit and Bikash at the ratio of 3 : 5. If Amit and Bikash together did that work in 30 days. How many days will required for Bikash alone do that work?

1. 90 Days
2. 100 Days
3. 110 Days
4. 120 Days

Show Answer Show How to Solve Open Rough Workspace

How to Solve
We know that, the ratio of Amit and Bikash is 3 : 5.
Amit + Bikash together did that work in 30 days.
So, Amit + Bikash = 30 x 15 = 450 work.

5. prathibha says:

how can this question be solved?

Arjun completed a work in 35 days and biju in 45 days. if together they complete it and get a payment of Rs 3200, what is biju’s share?

• Gurpreet says:

Find the ratio of their work done in 1 day first.
Arjun’s 1 day work : 1/35
Biju’s 1 day work : 1/45

Ratio is : Arjun : Biju = 1/35 : 1/45 = 9:7

Total Payment is : 3200.. Total Ratio is 16..
So, Arjun’s share = (9/16)*3200 = Rs. 1800

And Biju’s share = (7/16)*3200 = Rs. 1400.
Or simply 3200-1800 = 1400…

• Kashyap says:

Why ratio become 9:7 instead of 7:9?

• shubham says:

Because ratio of capicty is iopposite ratio of efficiency

• rajendrasingh bhuriya says:

simple ratio both of 7:9 than total 16, 9/16*3200=1800 than 3200-1800=1400

• manoj says:

Biju share is 1800

• chintu kumar says:

1800

• yashwant singh says:

biju =45(3200/(45+45))
45*3200/80
1800

(

Wages are distributed in the ratio of efficiency or work done in a day. In this case efficiency is 9:7
3200*7/16=1400

• Sony says:

Wages are divided in the inverse ratio of number of days.
ie. 45:35 or 9:7

7/16 x 3200 = 1400
