Find the speed of current and speed of man in still watel .when Sharmistha can go 40Km / hr upstream and 54Km / hr downstream ?
Answer :
upstream speed is = 40Km / hr and downstream speed is = 54 Km / hr.So,
Speed of a current
= U - V / 2
= 54 - 40 / 2 = 14 / 2 = 7 Km /hr.

So Speed of current 7Km / hr.

Speed of main in still water
U+V /2 = 54 + 40 / 2 = 74 Km / hr.
Speed of main in still water is 74Km / hr.
