The result obtained by adding several quantities together and then dividing this total by the number of quantities is called Average. In class the average age of 12 girls is 19 and that of 16 boys is 12 years. What is the average age of entire class?

Total age of 12 girls is = 12 x 19 = 228
Total age of 16 boys is = 16 x 12 = 192
So, the average age od the entire class is ( Total Age ) / ( Total Number of Students )
or, ( 228 + 192 ) / ( 12 + 16 )
or, 420 / 28
therefore, 15

So, average age of remaining 22 students will be ( 484 / 22 ) = 22 years.
