We all know that the

**Example 1:**

The area of a square is twice the area of a rectangle.If the area of the square is 324 Sq.Cms, and the length of the rectangle is 13.5 Cm, What is the difference the breadth of the rectangle and the side of the square?

**Answer :**

We know the formula of square a^{2} = 324,so side of square a = 18 Cm.

length of rectangle is 13.5 Cm,

breadth = ?

324 = 2(l+b)

324 = 2 x (13.5 + b)

b = 324 x 10 / 2 x 135

b = 12

So the difference between breadth of the rectangle and the side of the square is ( 18 – 12 )=6 Cm.

**Example 2:**

What is area ? If the circumference of a circle is 22 Cm.

**Answer :**

circumference = 22 Cm

22 = 2 x 22 x r / 7

r = 7 / 2 cm.

Area of circle =πr^{2}

22 x 7 x 7 / 7 x 2 x2 = 38.5 Cm^{2}

**Example 3 :**

If the base of a triangular stadium field is 750 meters and its height 550 meters, Find the area of the field.

**Answer :**

**Shortcut tricks :**

Area of the field = Base x Height / 2

So , 750 x 550 / 2 square meters

= 375 x 550 / 100 x 100 = 20.625 sq. hectometers,

**Example 4 :**

If the base of a triangular stadium field is 750 meters and its height 550 meters. Find the area of the field. Along with also find the cost for maintenance to the stadium field at the rate of Rs 35.25 per sq.

**Answer :**

**Shortcut tricks :**

Area of the field = Base x Height / 2

So, 750 x 550 / 2 square meters

= 375 x 550 / 100 x 100 = 20.625 sq. hectometers ,

So, Cost of maintenance of stadium field 1 sq. hectometers = 35.25.

= Rs, 20.625 x 35.25 = Rs , 727.03125.

the cost for maintenance to the stadium field is Rs , 727.03125.

**Example 5 :**

The area of a rectangle 18 meters 2 decimeters long and 15 meters 3 decimeters wide. Find the area of square.

**Answer :**

Length = 18.2 meters.

Breadth = 15.3 meters.

So the area of square is ( Length x Breadth ) = 18.2 x 15.3 = 278.46 square meters.

**Example 6:**

In a hall room has the floor which is 30 meters long and 10 meters broad So, How many meters of cotton carpet 75 cm wide will be required to cover the room of hall and how much amount will require to be spent on cotton carpet if available at Rs 25/- per meters ?

**Answer :**

**Shortcut tricks :**

length required = ( length of room x breadth of room / width of carpet ) = ( 30 x 10 / 75 ) = 400

Amount = rate per meter x ( length of room x breadth of room / width of carpet ) = 25 x ( 30 x 10 / 75 ) = 25 x 400 = 10000.
