### What is Rectangle?

A rectangle is four side of with right angle. Each side of Rectangle is equal and parallel and each angles is a 90^{o} is called Rectangle, and its properties are given as, Equal angle means that all of its angles are equal ( 360° / 4 = 90° ). Here, L = Length and B = Breadth of a Rectangle.

Perimeter of Rectangle

2 x ( L + B)

Side of a square is 6 cm less than the length of a rectangle and breadth of the rectangle is 7 cm less than the side of the square. The area of the square is 324 sq.cm. What would be the area of rectangle?

- 328 sq.cm

**How to Solve**

We know that, area of the square = 324 sq.cm.

So, side of the square is,

√324

= 18 cm.

Length of the rectangle is,

18 + 6 = 24 cm.

Breadth of the rectangle is,

18 – 7 = 11 cm.

So, area of the rectangle is,

(L x B )

= 24 x 11

= 264 sq.cm.

The area of a square is twice the area of a rectangle. If the area of the square is 225 sq.cm and the length of the rectangle is 12.5 cm, then what would be the difference between the breadth of the rectangle and the side of the square?

**How to Solve**

Area of the square = 225 sq.cm.

So, side of the square is,

√225

= 15 cm.

So, area of the rectangle is,

Area = (L x B )

225 = 2 x 12.5 x b

b = 9

So, the difference between the breadth of the rectangle and the side of the square is,

15 – 9

= 6 cm.

A hall room has the floor which is 30 meters long and 10 meters broad. So, how many meters of cotton carpet of 75 cm wide will be required to cover the room of hall and how much amount will require to be spent on cotton carpet if available at Rs.25/- per meters?

Length required = ( length of room x breadth of room / width of carpet )

= ( 30 x 10 / 75 )

= 400.

Amount = rate per meter x ( length of room x breadth of room / width of carpet )

so, 25 x ( 30 x 10 / 75 )

then, 25 x 400

therefore, 10000.

The area of a rectangle 18 meters 2 decimeters long and 15 meters 3 decimeters wide. What would be the area of rectangle?
