You can get a good score only if you get a good score in math section. And, you can get good score only by practicing more and more. All you need to do is to do math problems correctly within time, and you can do this only by using shortcut tricks. And, again it does not mean that you can’t do maths without using shortcut tricks. So, you may have that potential that you may do maths within time without using any shortcut tricks.
But, so many people can’t do this. So, here we prepared time and work shortcut tricks for those people. And, here in this page we try to put all types of shortcut tricks on Time and Work. But, we may miss few of them. If you know anything else rather than this please do share with us. And, your little help will help so many needy.

Can you help to solve a word problem? the word problem is: A and B together complete a piece of work in 20 days. The same work is completed by B and C and C and A in 15 and 12 days respectively. how long will it take for them to complete the work together? and how long will each take to complete the same work?
A does a work in 90 days, B in 40 days and C in 12 days. They work one after another for a day each, starting with A followed by B and then by C. If the total wages received are Rs 360 and A, B, C share them in the ratio of the work done, find their respective individual wages

2 men and 3 boys can do a piece of work in 10 days while 3 men and 2 boys can do the same work in 8 days, in how many days can 2 men and 1 boy do the work?
25 women finish that work in 15 days. And we solve that 75 women needed to finish the work in 5 days.
But, if you notice the question carefully, the question ask for how many more women needed to finish the work. Means, we have 25 women and we need 50 more women for total 75 women. That’s why we need to subtract 25 from 75.

in example 3 why 2/15 will comes on 15/2
if Subir can do piece of work in n days, then subir 1 day’s work 1 / n.
similarly subir and kabir work done by 1 days ( 1 / 20 + 1 / 12 ) = 2 / 15.
15 / 2 comes because if subir 1 days work = 1 / n, then subir finish work in n days .
thats why it 15 / 2 both person work days

Questions
Please
Sunil, in that case we use the formula…
1 = n(1/a+1/b) + x(1/a)
We will try to make sure n(1/a+1/b) is 1 itself…
If not, then we add x(1/a) to the equation as remainder work which person A does alone at last day.
Solution will be (2n+x) days.
For example, if A takes 24 days, and B takes 12 days to complete a work, and they do alternate days, we will use (1/24 + 1/12) to arrive at 1/8.
1= n (1/8) + x (1/24)
We can see that if we make n as 8, we can maximise it and make x zero.
1= 8(1/8) + 0(1/24)
=8(1/8)
So, 2n+x = 2×8 + 0 = 16 days is answer, assuming A started the work first.
ya its good .we need alternative day questions
b’coz 2/15 is a work done by them in one day but we need total work of them so 2/15 is one day work than total work is 15/2
In example 1 1/50-1/60=1/300 how?
pls explain 1 of the any of the the example in details.
(1×6/50×6)-(1×5/60×5)=(6-5)/300=1/300(take LCM)
Yes you are right the ans should be 300 mins. The person who has updated this site might have forgotten to take the reciprocal…I hope i was able to help you.
1/50 – 1/60 = 300

50 men can complete the work in 100 days.In how many days the work will be completed if 10 men joined after every 10 day.
Sir plz solve and explain this question.
Plz sir send difficult question with solution b’coz I face problem to solve difficult questions
1/20-1/60=0.033333 in first example how it is 30min
1/20-1/60 =
3/60 – 1/60 = 2/60
=1/30
This is the contribution, not time. To get time, we reverse its fraction.
1/30 is made 30/1 = 30 minutes
vishal :- 1/20 – 1/60
6 – 2 / 120 = 4 /120 = 30 min
IN EXAMPLE 11-) please explain sir,
How many more women need the complete work in 5 days ?
75-25=50
How is it possible sir, more means plus symbol then we add only 75+25=100.
please clear this doubt

Sir ex 9 I can’t understand y we take 4 days as 1/4 and fully explain clearly
1 pics of work done in 4 days
1 day work is done 1/4 part of work
Here work is writen in form of 1/4
A contractor undertook to complete a work in 120 days. He employed 200 men. In 72 days only half of the work was done.How many more men should be employed to complete the work in time ?
15 men or 7 boys can do a work in 29 days, then 12 men and 8 boys will do the same work in???
in ex. 3 it would be 300 not 1/300 …
2 men and 3 boys can do a piece of work in 10 days while 3 men and 2 boys can do the same work in 8 days, in how many days can 2 men and 1 boy do the work?
(2M +3B)10=(3M+2B)8.
20M+30B=24M+16B
30B-16B=24M-20M
14B=4M
7B=2M
2M+3B=10Days
7B+3B=10 days
10B=10days
2M+1B=8B
8B= 10*10/8= 12.5 days
Thank u!!! It is very helpful to me..
why we are always finding the work of one’s day?concept behind that?
Explain Example 11 briefly ….why we need to subtract 25 from 75….?
25 women finish that work in 15 days.
And we solve that 75 women needed to finish the work in 5 days.
But, if you notice the question carefully, the question ask for how many more women needed to finish the work. Means, we have 25 women and we need 50 more women for total 75 women.
That’s why we need to subtract 25 from 75.
Can you please explain in example 9 why it’s remaining work is (1-1/5)… Why are you subtracting from 1
10 women can complete the work in 8days 10 children can do that work in 12days than 6 women and 3 children how much day take for doing that work.
