DISCOUNT (100-15%)=85%
Hi here rajib got marks of each subjuct is 35,42,38,26,46.so its total is 187, here already told that each subjuct maximum marks is 100.thats why he got 187 marks outof total 500 marks.so 187/500*100=37.4%
The simple answer will be add all subjects marks obtained then divide by total no of subjects.
here,187/5= 37.4
i.e, 37.4 is ans

(52% of 8540. ) + (15% of 7860) = x + 2540
(50. + 2 )% of 8540 = 4270+170.8 = 4440.8
(10+5)% of 7860 = 786+393= 1179
Now, 4440.8+1178=x+2540
5619.8 – 2540 = x
3079=x
